Memorials and Tributes to Members and Friends

This page is dedicated in honor of the Motor Menders members and friends who have gone on before us.  You will see here some of our special friends who are gone but will never be forgotten.  This page is to honor and memorialize the greats.

It's with heavy heart that we announce the loss & passing of our long time member & friend David Agronick.  Dave was a well respected man who was soft spoken & kind with a quick wit & sly smile that made you wonder what he was up to!  He was a very talented man  who built his own cars from the ground up.  Here is a photo of him with the last 2 cars that he devoted so much time to building & that he was so proud to complete.  Battling his disease while building these cars was not an easy road but Dave fought his way through & completed them both!   He was a cornerstone member of our club & a great friend to all.  He always was happy to share his knowledge of the build & wanted for the art of restoring old cars to continue for generations to come.
Our wish for you Dave ...clear days to cruise, no rain, smooth roads to meander along in your finest build, the thrill of the find, plenty of friends to talk it over with, and parts that fit the first time!  You will be lovingly remembered & sadly missed by all.

I am standing on the seashore.  A ship spreads her sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean.  I stand watching until she fades on the horizon, and someone at my side says, "she is gone!"

Gone where?  The loss of sight is in me, not in her.  Just at the moment when someone says "She is gone," there are others who are watching her coming.  Other voices take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"  And that is dying.

Mr. Tim Brillant known to many as Gramps left our world on June 3rd at 11 am to return home to our heavenly father & many friends & family who have been patiently waiting while he fought a long & courageous battle with cancer.

Known by many as the KING of used car sales in the state of Maine he started many a young family out with their first car.  He was the original "your job is your credit" & "buy here, pay here" dealer in the area.  Many deals were made on a handshake & a promise of payment.  Mr. Brillant was always honest about what you were buying & always stood behind what he sold.  He was kind & generous to a fault.  He personified hard work & came to work every day through out his battle until two weeks before the end of his life.

A great businessman & a great supporter of the community in every way his proudest accomplishment was his role as father, grandfather, uncle, & husband.  He loved every member of his family & stood proudly behind them no matter the path they chose.

He will be sadly missed by all his family & the many friends he made through out the years.

I will always remember this great man sitting in his big leather chair behind his big desk at Brillant Motors.  He never stopped trying to sell me a new van.  The consumate salesman right to the end.

He was a great dad to Motor Menders long time member Leon Brillant & a great friend to all the Motor Menders,    He will be fondly remembered & missed always.

RIP King of used cars & fair trades...you will be missed.
